What Eyelets Are
Eyelets (also called grommets) are metal rings punched through the banner's edge, reinforcing the hole so rope or cable ties can hold the banner without tearing the flex. On our banners, eyelets cost a flat ₹50 extra per banner (offered on Starflex — the standard outdoor banner media) — placed at all four corners plus roughly every 2 feet along the edges.
With or Without — Decide by Mounting
Choose with eyelets when the banner ties to poles, grills, gates, scaffolding, railings or between trees — any rope-based mounting, which covers most outdoor use. Choose without eyelets when it mounts in a frame, sticks flat to a wall or board (use gumming vinyl for that), or drapes over a table. If unsure, take eyelets: an unused ring costs nothing, a missing one means tape and tears.
Hanging a Banner Right
Tie corners first, keep tension even so the face doesn't ripple, and angle the top slightly forward outdoors so rain runs off. For banners wider than 6 ft, use the mid-edge eyelets too — wind load on a large flat banner is serious, and corners alone will tear in the first storm.
